Care After Hours
When the office is closed, the covering hand surgeon can be paged by calling the office at
617-965-4263. Tell the answering service your name, the reason you are calling, and a number where you can be reached in the next 30-60 minutes. Try to keep the phone line open so the doctor can call you. If this is an emergency that can't wait for the doctor to call back, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or call 911.
Cancellations
If you are calling to cancel an appointment please leave a message with the answering service and they will forward that message to the office the next business day .
Medication
If you are having difficulty with the medication you have been prescribed often times a change in the medication or stopping the medication will alleviate your problem. This is something the covering surgeon often can adjust. Please have the name, address, and telephone number of your pharmacy to help the doctor call in the change in your medication.
To assure quality of care, certain medications such as pain medications can not be renewed after hours when patient charts are not available. Please contact us during office hours Monday through Friday for renewal of pain mediciations.
