Requirements
There are insurance plans, like HMOs, Medicaid, and Neighborhood
Health Plan, which require a pre authorization referral to visit
a medical specialist. After you schedule your appointment at Hand
Surgery, PC, call your primary care physician to request that a
referral be submitted to our office. Prior to your scheduled
visit, we recommend that you call our office to verify that we
have received the referral from your primary care physician.
Patients with school insurance policies obtain health insurance
referral forms from the school health office. For additional

Check-in
Please check in at the front counter where a medical receptionist
will register your name, contact information, and insurance
cards.
If the
receptionists are on the phone please note to
your left a bright pink sign attached to wall pockets. It contains
paperwork for new patients and patients who have not seen us in more
that six (6) months. The doctor’s require the forms be completed again
if it has been over six (6) months. The medical receptionist will call
you to the window in the order you arrived.
The doctors make
every effort to greet their
patients on time. However, sometimes there are medical
emergencies that require immediate medical attention. We
recognize your time is valuable and invite you to call our office
ahead to inquire if the doctors are running on schedule.
Should medical
emergencies necessitate that your
scheduled appointment be delayed, we will keep you informed. We
assure you that upon meeting with the doctor you too will receive
all the time you need to address your medical concern.
